The Tabernacle was constructed about 1903 on property deeded by La Vantia Wheeler Conger and has served as a civic center for China Spring and surrounding communities.
The China Spring farming community formed in 1870 and has now evolved into a fast growing suburban community with excellent schools and many business establishments.
The Tabernacle has hosted school assemblies, jukebox dances, live performances, church revivals, community theatre, and classrooms. It now serves civic community groups and businesses for meetings.
